Planning of the Halloweeny costume...

Not a *lot* of money to spend, so I'm thinking of doing my purple HolyClothing dress, dying a pair of thigh-highs purple to match, my silver ballet slippers. All of those I have/can get easily.

Then, I want to find a pair of silver fairy wings (possibly make them myself?), and hair/makeup to work with the whole outfit. I don't think I'm going anywhere - just passing out candy on the front porch.

Agenda for today - grocery shopping, lunch out and library run. I know D's been working his butt off, and I am going to be selfish and say that one day a week with my husband just isn't enough, darn it.

We're going to a party, which is actually being held on November 8th because some friends of ours are getting married on November 1st, which is when we would have celebrated Halloween any other year.

That reminds me. I have to pick out a costume. Hmmmm...I think I'm going to have to make a trip to the costume shop soon.

If you don't feel like making fairy wings, I have a pair of pink wings I wore to Faerieworlds a couple of years ago. They are in my office somewhere. If I check and they are still unbent, I would be happy to send them to you.

why thigh-highs? i think tights or colored pantyhose would work better. too bad it's almost impossible to get colored fishnet pantyhose in our sizes - if you're going to use

copperwise's pink wings, pink fishnets over purple tights would look smashing! and you might want to get some of the spray-in-wash-out hair color they alway sell for Halloween, and do your hair purple with pink and silver streaks. and some silver body glitter ;-)

Because I have thigh-highs and don't have to buy anything new. I would love to have some tights, but everything I'm finding in my size is ridiculously expensive.

I'm planning on the spray-in hair color - I love that stuff. Your ideas would be great.

you really can't dye hosiery - the nylon just won't take dye.

Zaftique has some very nice-looking, and relatively inexpensive, stuff. these look as if they'd be about right for your costume - i want a pair of them myself! yeah, they're footless... but you can always add a pair of cheap pink socks ;-)
